Medical and Dental Services

Johnson Oral Surgery offers the following services to it's patients:

IV Anesthesia/Sedation Dental Surgery
With the use of IV anesthesia, oral surgery is a pleasant, safe experience. You will be in a pleasant state and will have no memory of the procedure and little or no memory of time slightly before and just after the procedure.

Surgical Removal of Teeth
Many simple extractions can be performed by a general dentist. However, since an oral surgeon has special training, dentists will usually refer patients for the removal of damaged, impacted, or severely decayed teeth, including wisdom teeth. Patients who would be more comfortable receiving sedation or general anesthesia during surgical procedures are usually referred to an oral surgeon.

Surgical Removal of 3rd Molars (Wisdom Teeth) (View Animated Example)
Very few people have the space for their third molars (wisdom teeth) and most people do not need these teeth to function properly. Wisdom teeth will often be impacted in the bone, preventing the normal eruption process (pushing through the gum tissue). Most dentists will recommend extraction of wisdom teeth to prevent problems such as crowding of other teeth, which can be a serious problem with orthodontics, and possible infection. A major health problem associated with impacted wisdom teeth can be Jaw Cysts and Jaw Tumors.

Jaw Reconstruction
J aw reconstruction can be achieved by extending the mandible with the utilization of a distraction device to "stretch" the bone.

Fractured Facial Bones
Using cosmetic procedures, Dr. Matt Johnson can reconstruct fractured facial bones and allow them to heal back to their normal state.

Dental Implants
Dental Implants bond biologically to the living bone tissue to help preserve bone levels and a youthful facial appearance. Once united with the bone, they support your teeth firmly and safely.

Genioglossus Advancement (Sleep Apnea Surgery)
Genioglossus Advancement, Hyoid Myotomy surgery for the treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea. This surgery enlarges the airway at the base of the tongue. This is usually an outpatient procedure.

Skin Cancer and Mole Removal
Melanoma is one of the deadliest forms of skin cancer. We can remove and test moles for skin cancer.

Jaw Tumors and Cysts (View Animated Example)
Dr. Matt Johnson can remove impacted, damaged, and non-restorable teeth. Impacted teeth can cause serious problems if not managed properly. Some of these problems include infection, possible crowding of teeth, and even the development of cysts in the jaw, which can lead to tumors.

Facial Lacerations and Trauma
Dr. Matt Johnson for facial injuries by repairing routine and complex facial skin lacerations (cuts), setting fractured jaw and facial bones, reconnecting severed nerves and ducts, and treating other injuries.

Cosmetic Facial Surgery
Dr. Matt Johnson can correct jaw, facial bone and facial soft tissue problems left as the result of previous trauma or removal of pathology. This surgery to restore form and function often includes moving skin, bone, nerves, and other tissues from other parts of the body to reconstruct the jaws and face.
